ROAD to 31 Devotional - Day 6 - "Your Pain Is Not In Vain"

Listen to "Testimony Song" off of my Mixtape here https://m.soundcloud.com/jeannie-ortega-2/testimony-song

"Testimony Song" was my first attempt at writing a song that told my story, as a way to say thank you to God. The words of the song were genuinely how I felt at that point in my life. I was 17 in California and had finally realized the pain I've experienced throughout my young life was not in vain. That pain allowed me to grow and mature and time and time again I also noticed that God never left my side. Even before I acknowledged Him I always felt this other-worldly love giving me the strength to keep fighting. The heartbreak and disappointment I felt inside, helped me to strive harder to make it out and I would go on to use it all to fuel my creativity which in turn would help others relate with me.

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

In all my trails, the God of comfort would time and time again lift me out of despair and the lessons I learned in the battle would help me share that comfort with others. When you share your testimony you celebrate the victory in the life lessons and you overcome the enemies lies. Now, as I travel around the country and share my story, I see the power it has to connect with people and provide hope to press on.

2 Corinthians 1:3‭-‬5 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too."

Revelation 12:11 "And they have conquered him(Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony..."

Reflection: Although you might not feel like you are ever gonna get out of your battle - Remind yourself of all the battles of the past and how you pulled through. Begin to share those testimonies of overcoming with others and allow your faith to increase for the season you are currently in.
